About

The Community Building section of Sanctifying Modernity explores how we can begin to rebuild the social fabric that once supported faith, friendship, and flourishing local life. Drawing on Catholic social teaching—especially the principles of solidaritysubsidiarity, and the common good—this space will share ideas for renewing both explicitly Christian groups and adjacent secular associations that reflect similar values.

A few generations ago these kinds of organizations were the lifeblood of communities—places where real relationships were formed, values were reinforced, and intergenerational trust was built. Today, we need them more than ever. Whether rooted in faith or simply open to it, these local associations offer a powerful way to resist isolation, foster meaningful bonds, and create communities where virtue and joy can thrive again.
